Our annual MLK PEACE through PIE event and fundraiser, will be  Saturday, April, 2, 2022 instead of its usual date -- the Saturday before the MLK Holiday in January. This event brings people of all ages together, to enjoy a day of celebration and connection to healthy food demonstrations workshops on creating your own food source by growing your own foods learning about the science between healthy eating and physical and emotional wellness how Beauty's Community Garden is making a difference in Food Desert Communities like Independent Heights and other surrounding Houston communities. As we build up to this main fundraiser event in April, we are opening up opportunities for people and businesses to support our mission by becoming a donor, sponsor, volunteer, promoter, advertiser, or value-add participant. We are also looking for donations of pies and items for our annual auction. All funds raised support Beauty's Community Garden's mission to change people's lives through becoming a sustainable food source, and owning their healthy outcomes through gardening and healthy eating. The Pie(s) & More Auction (virtual) jumpstarts our Annual Fundraising to support Beauty's Community Garden's year-round programs running August 1, 2022 - July 31, 2023. Funds immediately support the BCG's Desert to Beauty's project expansion initiative, focused on growing Beauty's Community Garden into a holistic, culturally-rich, and educational green space for its projects and the community at large.
