DESCRIPTION:Soil and Compost Secrets!\nHealthy Plant’s Secrets\n\nJoin us at Beauty’s Community Garden\, Saturday\, October 8\, 2022\, from 10am-11am for this free hour workshop. We will explore the underground plant ecosystem- soil and compost crucial to supporting plant health. \nThis workshop supplies materials necessary to create the garden (container\, soil\, seeds or plants\, fertilizer\, etc. ) Texas A&M University Garden Course funded\, in part\, by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). \nSession will Include: \n\nIdentification of a plant’s needs and the main components of a loamy soil (Sand\, Silt\, and Clay).\nEvaluation of appropriate soils to support plants.\nIdentification of materials best for home composting.\nCreation of an eco-friendly compost.\n\nWorkshop Details: \n\nWHEN: Saturday\, October 8\, 2022\nTIME: 10am – 11am\nWHERE: Beauty’s Community Garden:  3201 Airline Dr. Houston\, TX 77022\nRSVP: Limited Capacity and Space\, so please RSVP.\nADMISSION: Ages 18 on up\nCOST: FREE (Optional:**Donations in Support of Beauty’s Community Garden Programs are accepted.**)\nCOVID-19: Masks are encouraged; If not on hand\, masks will be provided.
